DIY- Ultra Fab Curls by Sexy Hair® Artist Meaghan
1. How long have you been a Stylist for Sexy Hair?
2 ½ years. Master Artist Steven Melito inspired and helped guide me to be a part of the Sexy Hair team. At first I was really attracted to the brand’s rock star attitude, but once I learned more about the company I knew it would be a perfect fit for me.
2. Besides Ultra Fab Curls, what other looks are your specialties?
I absolutely LOVE upstyling whether its bridal, prom or avant gard looks. In fact, I’m already booked for next year’s prom season.
3.This fall was your 2nd time doing hair at the Charlotte Ronson show for NY Fashion Week. What’s the most exciting part about working a runway show?
Definitely the pressure is the most exciting part! The hustle and bustle of working on 25 models in such a short amount of time, and getting to see the end result on stage is the most amazing and rewarding feeling ever!
4. What’s the craziest hairstyle you ever had?
Well my hair right now is pretty crazy, I have Cruella Devil hair. When I was 18 though I shaved my head in the back into a bunch of crazy designs and colored it flaming hot pink and purple! It was insane; I lost my mind for a hot minute. I have pictures but I try to hide them.
5. What’s your “go-to” Sexy Hair product?
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Touchable Hairspray, it’s buildable and you can do so many things with it unlike typical hairsprays. I do a lot of photo-shoots and music videos and I love the way it gives hair shine on camera while conditioning. When upstyling you can mold the hair rather than having it be stiff. It’s definitely the best product known to man!
6. If you could do any celebrity’s hair, who would it be and why?
Lady Gaga, she definitely has no boundaries! She is someone who is creative and so out there like myself. Her wigs are amazing and I’m definitely all about using synthetic hair pieces! She is my biggest inspiration; it would be an honor to work with her one day.
7. What are some of your favorite trends in hair that you’re seeing right now?
Right now I’m really all about the sea-punk mermaid pastel hair. Also on the opposite end, the extremely natural super-soft ombre look is still one of my favorite trends. In this economy it’s great for the person who doesn’t want to get their hair done all the time, it’s perfect!
